Piano Lesson Details

Studio Philosophy
The discipline of learning an instrument will serve students of all ages well in the long run. Achieving musical literacy helps children academically. I use games, contests, and other proven teaching methods to tailor piano lessons to the needs of each individual student. In my studio, I expect students to work hard, be nice, and have fun!

Practice Makes Better
Practice times and strategies will vary from student to student. In general, however, students should practice 5 days per week. I work towards student independence in practicing at home. However, parents and guardians, please encourage and remind your child to practice daily. Also, please be aware of what your child should be practicing. Students, do your part to work hard and have fun with piano! The more you practice, the more enjoyable playing piano will be.

Payment Policy
Lessons cost $25.00 per half hour lesson. Rather than paying for 3 lessons some months, 4 lessons some months, and 5 lessons some months, the cost averages out to $100 per month throughout the school year. Payment is due at the beginning of each month (cash or check acceptable). You may also choose to take a 45 minute lesson or 1-hour lesson. The rates are the same.
         30 minute lesson = $25
         45 minute lesson = $37.50
         60 minute lesson = $50

Cancellation Policy
Please try to make it to your lesson every week. If you notify me at least 24 hours in advance of a cancellation, I will try to make up the lesson time with you. However, because I care for my young children at home full-time, make-up slots can be difficult. There will be no make up lessons or refunds given for cancellations less than 24 hours before your lesson or for "no-shows." I do understand that illness and family emergencies happen, and we can work around those cases.

Recitals
Recitals give students the opportunity to showcase their hard work for family and friends. We will have a spring recital each year. The exact date, time, and location are to be determined. All students are encouraged to perform.

Wunderkeys
Wunderkeys is a piano program for preschoolers that I have recently started using in my studio with the littlest of learners. While there are many opportunities for preschoolers to be in group music classes, Wunderkeys is designed to be a one-on-one, 30 minute piano lesson uniquely suited for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. The lesson structure includes five different activities during the 30 minutes to keep students focused, engaged, and having fun! Wunderkeys kids learn piano and music skills that allow for a smooth transition into mainstream piano books. Click here or contact me for more details about Wunderkeys.
